Malleefowl (Leipoa ocellata) are a vulnerable species native to the southwest of Western Australia, with scattered locations throughout southern Australia. The malleefowl is well known for constructing large mounds in which to lay their eggs, raked in from surrounding leaf litter and soil using their powerful feet.
